Recently, the INDICRO team attended the Festival of Biologics, hosted in Basel, Switzerland, a seminal event for stakeholders involved in the development of biological products. The event, held on 9th-12th October focused on the start to finish of biologic drug development from discovery through to market access bringing together pharma & biotech, academics, research institutes, regulators, patients groups and payers together with their partners across the value chain. Approximately 150 leading solution providers were present across discovery, development, manufacturing, fill finish and market access.
But what is the journey of a Biologic? We have come a long way from the first human biologic, insulin discovered in 1921. Today, the journey from start-to-finish of Biologics includes:

We learned about the latest developments in manufacturing, bioprocessing and clinical trials and networked with pioneers in the industry. Common themes were the use of AI, novel delivery systems, patient-centricity and collaborations for innovation such as academic and private partnerships. We particularly enjoyed the session presentation by Silvia Crescioli from The Antibody Society giving details of how antibody clinical trials and products have skyrocketed in the last 10 years, not including COVID trials. She provided a great overview of the types of antibodies available and range of indications. A great space to watch for the future!
Finally, Trish, our Founder gave a presentation about how INDICRO, connects and provides exposure and opportunities for collaboration for life science companies, expert freelancers/consultants and specialist vendors. It was great to get such positive feedback after the presentation. Her experience as a Freelancer and ability to give case studies to support this new business model were received enthusiastically by the audience.
